How we calculate this
- Hire Australia: a one-off fee of 15% of base salary, paid once, two months after your new employee starts. Add any visa and government costs you entered. After that you pay only the employee's salary.
- Another agency: a one-off fee at the percentage you entered, plus the same visa and government costs if the person needs a visa. After that, the employee's salary.
- Contractor: no fee, but the day rate × 220 working days, every year.
- Labour hire: no fee, but the salary plus the hire company's markup, every year.
- All figures exclude GST and superannuation, and assume the same person stays for three years. They don't include salary increases, training or onboarding time. Estimates for comparison only.
